If you're running a trade business, you're probably hearing it everywhere — “You need to be posting every day!”
Here’s the truth: you don’t.
You don’t need to spend your evenings posting to Instagram or coming up with daily content ideas. In fact, posting too often, especially with rushed or boring content, can actually make people stop paying attention altogether.
Here’s what works better: a few quality posts a week that people actually notice.

📅 Quality > Quantity
You don’t need to be a content machine, you just need to show up consistently in a way that builds trust.
2–3 posts per week are more than enough for most trades and property service businesses. The key is to make sure each post does one of the following:
Shows your work
Builds trust
Shares useful info
Reminds people you exist
That’s it. If every post ticks one of those boxes, you’re doing better than most.
🔁 What Happens If You Post Every Day?
You risk two things:
Burnout – You run out of things to say and start posting for the sake of it.
Bored followers – Your audience sees your name every day and starts to scroll past without paying any attention.
It’s better to post 2–3 well-thought-out updates than 7 forgettable ones.
🛠️ What Should You Post?
Here’s a simple formula you can follow each week:
1x “Show Your Work” post Before & afters, job in progress, happy customer, project details
1x Trust post Share a review, explain how you solved a problem or answer a common question
1x Useful post A quick tip, seasonal advice, simple reminder (like “Have you checked your gutters lately?”)
That’s a whole week covered in less than 30 minutes of thinking.
📸 Don’t Overthink the Visuals
Yes, decent photos matter. But you don’t need to be a pro photographer.
If your job is clean, your tools are neat, and you’ve got good light, take a quick snap and post it. Add a caption that explains what it is and how it helped the customer. That’s what people care about.
🤔 What About Stories, Reels, or Video?
If you’re up for it — great. But don’t pressure yourself.
Reels and Stories can help boost engagement, especially on Instagram and Facebook, but they’re not mandatory. Focus on consistency first. Add the fancy stuff later.
🧠 Consistency Builds Trust
If someone finds your page and sees it hasn’t been updated in 6 months, they’ll assume you’re no longer active or not very professional.
Posting 2–3 times a week makes it clear you’re in business, busy and proud of your work.
It also keeps your name popping up in their feed just enough to stay top of mind, without being annoying.
🔁 TL;DR
You don’t need to post every day, 2–3 good posts per week is enough
Focus on quality, not quantity
Post jobs, reviews, tips or anything that shows you know what you’re doing
Keep it real, not over-polished
Staying consistent builds trust and keeps your name in front of people
